isc-dhcp-common software package provides common files used by all the isc-dhcp* packages, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install isc-dhcp-common
isc-dhcp-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the isc-dhcp-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep isc-dhcp-common *
You will get with isc-dhcp-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
